The Houston County Bar Association is a voluntary membership organization comprised of nearly one hundred attorneys and judges represented in the Georgia cities of Centerville, Perry, Warner Robins, and Macon. The Bar Association strives to promote professionalism and provide its members with opportunities to access valuable resources and foster relationships.

These resources include:

  • Continuing legal education seminars
  • Guest speakers on legal and non-legal topics including marketing for law firms, operating a small business, software applicable for law firms, and more
  • Four lunch meetings a year where members can build relationships with other Bar members
  • Opportunities to give back to the community

Our Mission

The Houston County Bar Association is an unincorporated professional association comprised of Lawyers and Members of the Judiciary. The purposes of the Association are: to exert a positive influence among the members of the legal profession in Houston County; to deliver legal services to the community; to promote the administration of justice; to elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession; and to cultivate a spirit of collegiality among the members.

Young Lawyers Division

The membership of this Division is open to all members of the Houston County Bar Association until the conclusion of the next Annual Meeting of the Division after that member’s fortieth birthday. The Young Lawyers Division also includes all members of the Houston County Bar Association, regardless of age, until the Fourth Annual Meeting of the Division following the member’s first admission to the practice of law in any jurisdiction.

The Purpose of the Young Lawyers Division:

  • To further the purpose of the Houston County Bar Association as stated in Association’s By-Laws
  • To organize and equip the younger members of the Houston County Bar Association to work together for the betterment of the legal profession and for the advancement of the goals and public service of the Houston County Bar Association
  • To provide a program of activities designed to be attractive and helpful to members of the Division
  • To provide a medium with which to deal with the problems and obligations peculiar to members of the Division
  • To provide a method and means of cooperation between local young lawyers and the Georgia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers’ Division
  • To promote and preserve the interests of the young lawyers of the Houston County Bar Association
  • To give expression to the desire of young lawyers to promote justice and improve the quality of the legal system
  • To provide a forum for the exchange of views among young lawyers
  • To encourage the professional development of young lawyers through educational and service programs
  • To interest and encourage young lawyers to participate in the general activities of the Houston County Bar Association
  • To otherwise support the interests and activities of young lawyers and to be of service to the Houston County Bar Association and to the community
